So I have this dead video card...

A friend gave me an old 6800 GT AGP card. He said someone had tried a BIOS flash or something along those lines, but he wasn't entirely sure. Needless to say, there's no display when the card's powered up.

I don't have much hope for the card, but I'd like to turn it into a fun project. Any ideas for ways to try to revive it, or any way of deciding exactly how it was killed? There doesn't appear to be any physical damage to the card.

If it works, I'll be giving it away to a less fortunate family, so their kids can play a few "newer" games on the computer.

Thanks.

Baking it sounds like a good idea, but if the problem was a bad bios flash, it might not help things. I would put it into a computer as a secondary video card (might need a mobo with two x16 PCI-E ports), and then try to reflash the BIOS first. THEN try the baking trick.
