So i have that staple stuck in my socket on my mobo now =/

Is there any way I can remove my socket on my motherboard so I can take that piece of the staple thats plugging it up?

You'd have to read my other thread to know why.. =/...........all i have to do is remove that tiny piece.....argh

sigh....nm I got it out with my pocket knife. I just pushed my knife a little into that hole and pried it out. I shouldn't make posts in panic anymore. Time to send this SOB to Gary Headlee so he can put that missing pin back on.

Ahh, I see... you were the one writing about the broken pin on the x2 3800+? Ya know, I've actually "repaired" a CPU that way, but instead of using a staple I used a really thin wire. I basically did the "wire trick" that's common for voltage, and just looped back into the same hole. I think what helps is that the copper strand was pliable, so it kept contact with the CPU as it was installed.

I did this to "fix" a BSEL pin that I broke off for higher default FSB on a mobile Celeron. The new board didn't like that pin missing.

Well it was realy in there so any strength magnet wouldn't have worked (without taking out the mobo too). I had to pry it out with a pocket knife.
