So I have a SATA II MBD. What do I have to do use the Vertex 3 at full speed?

Change the MBD? or add a controller? If I should add a controller which one should I get? Im on a 7200rpm drive for years and would like to experience the SSD.

Thanks

I would do nothing. Almost every SSD more or less "feels the same" - and that is not due to best sequential read, but due to good random access.

yeh it's like wearing a jimmy Hat - you are still feelin' up!

:D now that's funny stuff!

I would say to buy a P67/Z68 mobo if you want to maximise your investment in speed. Although, I do often tell people that I'd take a V3 on sata2 over any other drive due to the much better design of the newest Sandforce controller. Low latency with a Turbo on demand attitude.

PS AMD 6G does pretty well also.

Cant change my motherboard which is SATA II. Decided to get the Vertex 2. Vertex 3 is 100% more cost wise and I do not get to enjoy the benefits of SATA III.

My budget was about $100.
