As in CPU thread Priorities. Is it more efficient to let WinXP manage the load or force each of my instances to a single CPU core? I'm just running the 5.04 text only console version of F@H.
To force would be a tiny, tiny bit more efficient, but in my opinion not worth the effort, 'cause you'd have to do that every time a new WU starts or you exit the client. I assume the "loss" of efficiency is negligible.
WinXP is supposedly fairly competent at assigning work in a multi-core system. Like BMC said it's unlikely that you'd see any noticeable difference (doing any manual adjustments that is).
