A Sony, 15" trinitron.. 100es I think. No warentee. I suppose my only choice is throwing it out? I hate to say it, but if disposal fees are needed (which they probably are) I don't think I could afford them.. with having to buy a new monitor. Is there any hope of fixing it?

Donate it to someplace like Goodwill Industries. Or a mission (living in LA I am thinking of the Los Angeles Rescue Mission).

What the hell is a disposal fee??? If it's broken, throw it out! A trashman will pick it up.

do what my friends did with their broken packard bell monitor.. took it out to a lonely deserted road, turned on the video camera and proceded to destroy it.. with liquior, rocks and a tonnes of other stuff.. boy that thing was strong.. no a crack on it... even after they threw it in the air and let it drop.

You are actually supposed to dispose of computer parts according to EPA regulations which do not allow you to just through them into the trash.

I know the CRT at least used to have toxic gas in them, and they are full of heavy metals like lead probably. If I could get it fixed, it would have value.. and monitarily I can't afford to put money into anything that doesn't someone do something for me. I'm right at the point between red and black, that's why I might be willing to have it repaired if it'd work.. if.

My car is acting up though, I'll probably just walk across the streen and throw it in the neighboring apartment's dumpster..
