So...I have 5 weeks of doing absolutely nothing now that finals are out

Last winter break I picked up Rise of Nations and played it to death. I played Thones and Patriots all over the spring and still fire it up occasionally. But now i have 5 weeks of boredom ahead, what games should I play?

I'm looking for more of an RTS than FPS...no HL2 or Doom3....but I have a P4 3 GHz with an FX5200, which should be good enough at reasonable resolutions.


Anyone got any ideas?
 
Dawn of War is awesome, escpecially if you have a good enough pc to play with max graphics.

I heard many good things about the new rome game (total war?).

haha I wish, I would much, much rather be making money. Still, the company I have worked on my breaks for during the last...3 years of my life sold off a bunch off assets this summer, so I don't have that job. I work in the summer, and i'm working in the spring, and I'd work this break if I could but it's hard to convince someone to hire you for a month...especially when I lose two days to externships and 5 days to family vacation

easily. i think it took me 5 weeks to finish the long campaign. granted, i have a full-time job, wife, and 2 kids, so my only playing time was midnight-3am.

what an amazing game though. while the diplomacy aspect could have been better (a la Civ), the strategy for the RT battles was great. trying to play other RTSs now (like Battle for M.E.) makes me cringe. looking forward to the LOTR mod for Rome as well.

Ahh, enjoy your break then. I'm just envious of all the college kids who NEVER have to work and get to do nothing for 5 weeks. Then again, I'm at work and the holidays bring out my jealous side. 🙂

I know you said RTS, but you've got to try out the Pirates! remake.

It's just so much fun. Especially if you're old enough to have played the original.. Since you're in college, i guess you're probably not 😛

rts, try rome total war and lotr - battle for middle earth.
