I don't get why people complain about sunlight with the AMOLED, it's perfectly readable to me with the brightness turned up. And the other 99% of the time I'm not standing in direct sunlight, I get to enjoy the super crisp & rich color!

I was noticing that too, and comparing it side-by-side with the SLCD, it is AMAZING how much better the screen looks at lower brightness!

I'm just being a jerk. There are many people who would much prefer the AMOLED. The good news is that phone is new enough that there is very little chance you got a refurb.

Are you kidding? These companies will do anything to keep customers on the smartphone data packages. I know of several people who have had similar situations as mine and were able to get different phones. There are posts all over other forums about people complaining about battery life, and being sent extended batteries for free.

Do you know how cell phone inventory works? Your phone has a SKU. If you put in for a warranty swap, you get whatever your SKU is back. There aren't 2 different SKU's for different LCD types. Its just one model. So your request would be physically impossible.

PS: Your cell phone company does not care about you.

Can the OP check and see if they are different? Check under the battery and see if anything is different besides the IMEI's. Now I'm curious and would love to admit that I was wrong.

Serial number would work fine too. They do keep a database of batch/lot numbers that correspond to SN.

Also, Verizon already stated that they are retaining some Incredible AMOLED stock to use for future warranty claims should they arise. They said that they would try to get the same screen type as a replacement to those who originally purchased the AMOLED. (too lazy to find the link)

Anyway, nothing glaring when I look inside the battery casing. IMEI's and SN are different, obviously, but model number and such is all the same. The only difference I see is that the styling between the two is noticeably different (different color, wider spacing, etc)

Retention dept. can ignore sku's. They sure as hell didn't look at my Moto Q's SKU when they FedEx'd me a BlackBerry.

Nice job on those SKU's. I wasn't aware of that and completely and totally admit I was wrong.

Retail is much different than a large corporation though. Trying to communicate between customer service, retention, repair and God knows what other departments is nearly impossible. That and you will rarely get the same 2 replies in a row if you call in.
