So I had the strangest job interview today

I went to a hotel bar to meet with someone for an interview over drinks.

I've spoken with him before but I thought he was an old chain smoking guy. He ended up being a young good looking guy about 6'3".

I got along with the guy pretty well and chatted about a bunch of stuff. Then Isiah Thomas of the Knicks sits down right near our table. This guy goes over to him and starts chatting him up. He ends up spending about 15 mins talking to him like they were old friends. When Isiah leaves he points to me, smiles and waves.

Then these three hot girls sits down right next to us. He goes over there and chats them up. Then some dude shows up at their table so he comes back. The girls say something to the guy and he goes over to the guy I'm interviewing with and tells him the girls want him to come back. We were on the way out so he gets their numbers and tells them he will call.

It's snowing out so he calls a car. The car ends up being a brand new $400K Roll Royce Phantom. It was strange being dropped off at the subway in a Rolls. Now I'm home and back to the real world. It was a strange night.

I think the interview went well though.

Sell-side equity analyst.

It's a job no one wants to do. Lots of entry level positions open at my firm. The problem is you've got to pass all these tests like the series 7, 63, 86 and 87 in a short time while also working from like 7AM-10-12PM and weekends too.

Let me guess the sky had marshmellow clouds and the subways flew to outer space; when did you wake up from this dream again? 😉

Only 7 am? Sign me up! I'm in at 4 am every morning during the week. Hoping to move over to the desk that trades in Asia in a year or two, then I can be more on my preferred schedule of later in the morning and very late at night.

Yeah. I think he's independently wealthy. There are a lot of young people in high places though in my business. Its a meritocracy. You go as far and fast as you are good.
