So I had my LASIK consultation this morning

Because my astigmatism, I wasn't sure if I was a candidate, or how close to 20/20 they could get me.

Well, after several different tests, and many different eye drops, they determined that I was a candidate and that they could restore 20/20 vision.

Since I thought it was going to cost close to 4500 dollars, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was only 1650.

I've got some other things I need to take care of first, but I'm shooting to go for the surgery after the 4th of February. I need to wait until after I run my marathon because I don't want any complications from it to interfere with my running.

I have astigmatism too, but unlike others, no one has ever been able to fix it with contacts or glasses. I used to rub my eyes a lot when I was a kid because my parents never kept the house clean, and my optometrist thinks that all that rubbing actually changed the shape of my eye from not just football shaped, as is the case with other people with astigmatism, but probably something like lopsided football shaped 🙁

You need to get a new doc. Try an opthamologist maybe.
