Set up a poll!
Well I'm kind of undecided actually. I was doing some calculations, and the Antec Mini-P180 actually takes up less space (volume-wise) than the Rogue. And I'm actually not sure my desk can handle the additional width of the Rogue. As it is, my widescreen monitor is a very tight squeeze - any less space and the monitor is going to be hanging over the edge of the desk :p. There's also the SG03, but I really hate the PSU placement in that case.

Anyways, this all came up because my current case is on its last legs. The front panel audio ports have failed, one of the USB ports is no longer working, and it's just looking pretty scuffed up in places.

My calculations btw:

SG03 = 1379.814 cubic inches
X-QPack 1 = 1391.04
Mini-P180 = 2441.196
Rogue = 2623.63
Nine Hundred = 2891.376 (yes I know it's a mid, not a mini, but just for comparison's sake)

The Rogue is more compact than the Nine Hundred, but not much smaller. Granted, the Mini-P180 is steel, not aluminum, so it's going to be heavy as hell, but the build quality looks really nice.

I hope those calculcations are right...some look kind of sketchy. That kind of brings up a question - how many mini-cube cases can you fit in a MM UFO :laugh:?

EDIT: Well scratch that idea - I just found out that the Mini-P180 is actually bigger than the NSK4480, and that's regular ATX to boot. Back to the drawing board. I really need to get a new case picked up before this thing completely falls apart and the final port dies. If only they made an all black version of the NSK3480/4480...

uhhh.. amber, you have to be the only female that would go into this much detail picking out a case. I dont even think ruby goes into this much detail. For her its how many fans can it hold, and how can i get the best flow!

When i ask cases, i go big small large? black silver pink? air cooled water cooled? LED's no LEDs.

if i started shooting in^3 the guys would even look at me crazy. lol

Not all women are the SO of a tech. I actually was engaged to a man that knew little about computers. (we broke it off after a year for unrelated to computers differences)

Personally, I have an Ultra Wizard case for my primary PC, and an in-win case for my secondary.

I couldn't stand the gaudy silver "ultra" logo over the p4 CPU inlet hole, but noticed that below that there was a modder's mesh like grille, so I just removed the silver piece. Looks great, Ive used both cases for years now.

lol seems like no girls give a big sized case any love.

Amber uses tissue box size. :X

Ruby has a mid tower CM830.

My best friend even has a mid size.

I like having realestate! if i saw something that tiny, i think id die trying to figure out how to fit everything internally.

Odd. I always thought the ultra wizard WAS a big case... seeing as how it fits a 120mm cooling fan in back, five to seven hard drives plus three 5.25" and one 3.5" external drives, and is full ATX.

A few years back I had an enlight 5U server case (with caster wheels as a tower case). I had a 10 disc Raid 50 array in it, and space for three other drives and an EATX mobo. That thing was absolutely huge.

Not as nice if you live in a room like this...

Note the pictures are outdated at this point but it still shows the approx size of my one room (plus bathroom and closet) apartment.

Just the facts. If everything we need fits and works, then we're golden. Appearance comes second to functionality. A beast of a case is difficult to move around and becomes a hazard in bad weather. Aluminum is lighter and corrosion resistant. The 830 stackers are a bit spacey but that's ok with me. Side panels with mesh is nearly the same as having no side panels without the obvious drawbacks of leaving the side panels off. For a middle sized case it will fit a LOT of stuff.

That reminds me. I have to post the pics of the new machine. I put a mATX mobo in my big 23-bay case. It's looks hilarious. It's not finished yet, but I guess I can post a pic where it is at now. :)

You gotta just buy a gun and move to a crappy neighborhood that the city is trying to make nicer by paying companies to come in and level the old houses and put up pretty condos. I found a gorgeous three story 2 bed 2 bath loft condo with two car garage for $800 a month, it backs up to a school and I'm not going for a walk at night but, who cares, no one is stupid enough to break in anywhere there's a trained rottweiler and a shotgun to greet them.

One word, Derwen. Disability.
This particular apartment costs $400 a month all-inclusive including (crappy) wifi internet service off of a DSL line, a 2wire.com modemrouter, and 802.11B. Still, I don't have to worry about any bills besides rent for anything.

Wow, $400 a month all inclusive. I saw a couple places like that around here. They were in neighborhoods that with a shotgun and rottweiler I still wouldn't live. Doesn't look to be a bad place though. So long as you can get by, thats the whole point anyways right?

Yep. Chapel Hill, NC is a great place to live: and very safe... in most areas anyway including the spot I live in.
