I was going to say they go in and out easily enough if you take the Y pipe off (which can be a bitch with rusted bolts), but then I read you've done it before so..

I've done 3, owned 5 1st gen explorers total. They are fun to work on and a blast to drive if you do them up right.

Is the tranny you lined up from a 93.5 onward explorer with the torrington bearings and beefier internals?

She said she has one from a freind parting out a 92. I have a 93, and my dad has a 96, which incedentaly has a slipping trans. Its the solenoid with the screen on it up inside the valve body. I cleaned it out once, worked for a few months, will have to order a new one. Damn electronics dont belong in transmissions!!!!!!!
