iDo you normally buy things and then not ever use them? Like, have you ever bought a TV and then placed it in your living room and then never turned it on?

Buying the game implies you want to play, so do it already. I think it's a ****** idea, since WoW in general is a crappy game, and its quality is not reflected in its addictiveness. This is generally true of all MMORPGS though. Most of them suck yet they're all highly addictive for some reason. Once you've broken your habit of one though, you should be able to potty train yourself from the others.

Yeah they suck because millions of people play them and have fun playing them

There is nothing tediously addictive about them. They are addictive solely because of their enjoyment. The link posted above about why WoW teaches the wrong things was written by a guy who's designed 2 failed/failing MMORPG's. WoW keeps expanding, Blizzard cares about their updates, an expansion pack is coming out, and you will not be disapointed with the endless things you can do.

I've been able to balance school, work, friends, and girls just fine. Most people can...it's just they choose to spend all their free time playing WoW. Honestly, I still get up Saturday morning and watch every college football game possible. Same with sunday and the NFL.

Also, there is no need to dedicate your whole life to running dungeons and getting the neweset stuff once you hit level 60. Some people really like doing that...others don't and you can still get your hands on the really good items, but just not first.

There is also no need to join a guild and if you do, there are more guilds that care about helping eachother and enjoying the game than guilds that care about running instances all day.

i play a bit when I have a down day...my rank fell in battlefield a lot which sucks but I am high 40's since christmas.

In the same time I have played many could put elites up left and right.

WoW is a great game to just jump into when bored at home occasionally.

When I MUDDed while young, I can see the addiction.

People always make WoW look like some crack addicting game yet usually they themselves have never played it first hand. It took me 4 months to level my mage to 60 on arthas. This is a long time but I dont play too much. I would just wait until I would have full rested exp then grind until I reach the next level. Now I can't stand the game. Im really sick of running instances and the gay dkp system pisses me off. Also you can only play so many games of wsg/av/ab before you get bored out of your mind. Im thinking of just quiting all together and maybe coming back when the expansion comes out... if it ever comes out:Q

QFT

I am in since last christmas; I am in my mid 40's in level (Night Elf Druid on Alleria in Shield of Azeroth).

It's fun, the game can offer you almost any type of gameplay you want.

Depends. If you want to see end game content, then you will be sucked into WoW. I started on a new server 3 months back and have seen and beaten bosses in naxx/aq40. Takes around 8 hours a day out of your life. If however, you are satisfied with being a "n00b", then your life won't be sucked. You can join a mediocre guild at level 60, raid 3 times a week, 3-4 hours each, and enjoy your tier 1 epics+life.

Edit: Choose Alliance

Well 7million+ people can't be wrong.

Play it but dont get addicted. Its easy to get addicted to a MMOG.

I had a 2 week trial a few months ago and never really got into it. I am downloading a 10 day trial right now and am going to try again to see if it's any better.
