So i got to play with a Thinkpad X60 today...

Dang, i LOVE that little beast. The keyboard is just massive on that thing, very cool...

I have a IBM T41 and have been thinking about going dual core, possibly to a macbook pro but man, if i went ultraportable, i wouldnt hesitate to hop on that baby. My T41 is built like a tank and i'm sure the T60 is just as darn good...

Only downside is lack of optical, but to be honest, i actually RARELY use mine, so no biggie...

Decisions Decisions....

Anyone care to comment?

had a X31, gave it to my sister when i started to use my 12" PB exclusively.

Loved the X but I liked OSX more.

i'm problaby going to upgrade to a macbook. the pro is so much nicer but the price isn't worth it

I think the lack of a touchpad is a bigger deal than the lack of an internal optical drive.

I havent used the touchpad a single day in the near 3 years i've owned it. Im a pointer type of guy 🙂

My T41 was/still is a tank.. I upgraded to a macbook too, recently. I got to the point where I actually preferred the t41's eraserhead pointer to using the trackpad (thinkpads still have the best trackpads by far). Agree on the lack of optical drive not being a huge deal.. usb drives are great in that respect.

At work I have a macbook pro for out of the office things and I am not a fan. I'd take my X31 over it any day. It's not nearly as fast and snappy as I was expecting and I had high expectations with the huge price tag.

The X60s is slimmer and has even better battery life tho it isn't available in C2D yet 🙁. Still a superb machine.
