I've never been a coffee drinker. Maybe it will grow on me if I find something that I like..

I got the machine for x-mas. Today I went to the store and baught some flavored coffee which I ground myself in the store. Chocolate and French Vanilla.

I'm drinking some of the chocolate concoction I made right now. It's allright. Added some creamer.. about 9 spoons of sugar. heh. This machine has some kind of frother thingy.. To put like creamy milk residue on the top.. so that It kind of looks like melted marshmellows in hot chocolate. Stupid thing came with an instructional VHS tape instead of a direction booklet. I can't remember when I last owned a VCR.

Any reccomendations or suggestions to make something good with this?

btw.. what is the difference between coffee, expresso, cappacino...?

What type of machine is it? Does it grind beans? the key to a good coffee is the beans...the dark roast beans gives a better tasting coffee IMO..non acidic, layer of cream( oil from the bean) on top. An espresso is just a straight shot of coffee, a cappucino is espresso with milk. A good place to but beans is off Ebay...Blue Moose Coffee roasts the best coffee beans that I have found so far. I also have my on Delonghi Magnifica machine at home and it is used everyday.

Not really, it is ground finer for espresso and hot water is forced through the ground coffee. Many roasters make a specific espresso roast.

I've found a few places I like to buy beans from online: Green Mountain Coffee and Deans Beans. Never bought beans off ebay. I like cappucino which is just a shot or two of espresso with frothed milk.

The key to a good shot of espresso is getting a good quality burr grinder.
