So, I got my car detailed.

I don't like saying I'm a perfectionist as I feel it's almost pretentious to say it; however, I think we can all empathize with the desire to do everything ourselves. I wouldn't give my machine to the Geek Squad anymore than I'd let someone at a car wash run a grimy polyester towel across my car. There are literally NO manual car washes within a half-hour driving distance from where I live right now.

I drove my car another ~1000 miles about a week ago, and the pour thing was a little beat up again. The front looked like an Orb Weaver's web after a night under a spotlight; a lot of bugs... a lot of bugs. I don't have the ability to detail it myself for various reasons, so I called some people and had them do it. I think they did a really good job.

When I detailed it myself. Bad picture.

After a ~900 mile drive through a blizzard last year. No, it's not a winter performer, but that's obvious.

First time it's been detailed in about a year. ISO 1600 on this shot, so it's a little grainy, sorry.

Sorry, just thought I'd share. Had some great times with this little car.

Anyone have any pictures to share of their recently detailed car? FWIW, I use clay, 3M polish (not always, but I have an orbital), and Klasse (cleaner and sealant).

How'd you do it? I used a heat gun to get rid of the badges on my previous car, but I've left them on with this one. I'd like to get rid of the huge badge on the front, but it would leave a few holes and I'd have to fill it in. Looks cleaner without the huge badges though, imo.

What's the point of a luxury, super car, "karts", etc?

There is always a reason for looks or performance. You don't need to have it, but it is all just pref.

Nice car, what are your performance numbers, fuel mileage?

I think it even looked very nice in that winter picture. Gives it that rugged look.
