So I got a steroid shot today

Had a nasty cough, fever, chest burning etc and went to the Dr. They told me they were going to give me a steroid shot and it should make me feel better. Ok I figure, I hate needles but if it helps then I'm all for it.

Christ almighty ruler of all thats holy! It was by far the most painful injection I've ever had. Even now, 5 hrs or so later I feel like someone punched me in the ass. I do feel better, but next time ill think twice about things.

Any idea what kind of steroid it would have been and how long its effects will last?

Cortisone shots are pretty bad. I'm going in for another on my shoulder next Friday and I'm not looking forward to it. I know how you feel man.

i apologize for the crappy joke. But generally steroids are given for those types of symptoms. I've only received steroids for my asthma though, so thats different from an injection in terms of sheer amount of drug. I dunno how long it will last.

Yeah, I told my wife it felt like she was having some fetish with it. I knew she was going to give it to me in my ass cheek so I went ahead and pulled up my shirt and down my pants a bit and shes like "turn around, pants down, hands on the exam table" very assertive. I think she wanted me, but then again what woman doesnt

And yeah, cortisone shots suck. I think I had that injected in me when I killed my knees and was going through rehab.

I cant remember what type of steroid, but i used to get these when i was in HS. The aching pain will last about 8 hours. But the effects are, well interesting. For me it was like an energy shot. I doubt you will sleep 4 hours tonight and be a ball of energy tomorrow--probably for a week. I guess this depends on the dose though.

I've been punched in the ass a few times, I used to wrestle and a cheap move in practice when you were losing was to punch the other guy in the ass. Hurts for a good 30 minutes

Prednisone's the steroid shot I've always gotten for an array of medical issues. I just hate the shit though, it wires me up and makes me eat like a pig for a day or two =/

So THATS why I've been eating non stop, I thought it was just because I was sick.

Is it still going down into the back of your leg? That could be a problem, if its localized to your butt that OK.


I cant say my wife or I have ever heard of this treatment for what seems like flu-like symptoms.

Localized to my butt now, but when I first got it it was a SEVERE burning pain all down my legg and my butt
