A v60. i was playing with it while i was on the toilet and it fell in. I pulled it out and the outside screen went to a blank blue color with no numbers. So i immediately turned it off and removed the cover and the battery. I laid it out and it let it dry till the A.M. So i turned it on this morning and volla it worked perfectly. How come the water didnt damage it when it got completely submerged>?

Dunno. My friend put his old StarTAC through the washer once and it worked fine once it dried out.

Strickly speaking, water doesn't do much damage to electronics. It does damage to charged electronics. :) You're lucky that no charge was applied where it shouldn't have been. Generaly, if you rip out the power right away when it gets wet, usualy you can save most electronics.

I also had an old pager that went through the washing machine, gave it a few days to dry out (without power of course) and it worked fine...

I will often wash off keyboards (that I dont care too much about...) if they are not working properly. I have been able to clean most of them out without any problems with nothing more than running water.

my friend once dropped his pager into salt water at the beach... after taking the whole thing apart and let it dry it worked perfectly afterwards...

If the electronic component didnt stay too long in the water, most of the time it should work fine after you let it dry...

the battery probably shorted itself dry in no time, and they don't hold too much juice anyway. man that's a funny story. glad it still worked.
