It's basically an easy-to-setup universal remote. It's pretty awesome!
Here's a link to the manufacturer's page:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ...harmony/US/EN,CRID=2084,CONTENTID=8865
Here's where I bought it from: ($81.99 right now, but they only offer 1 or 2 day shipping)

Setup was pretty easy. Put the batteries in, install the software on your computer, plug the remote into a USB port, and follow the instructions on the website. All you need is the device type (tv, dvd, whatever), manufacturer name, and model name. Then choose them from a list on the website, configure what you want it to do, and it downloads the instructions to your remote.
It's really nice having just one remote. I bought this for my mom because she's not very technologically-oriented and thinks more than one remote is too complex. There are some easy buttons at the top - watch a movie, watch tv, etc. She can watch tv, watch a dvd, watch a video tape, or listen to a music CD just by pressing the different buttons. There's also an "Off" button that turns everything off. I am planning on adding a TiVo and surround sound system with my Sherwood receiver in the future, so this remote will be extra nice to have.
As for gripes, I don't like having the play button all the way at the bottom. The newer models such as the 680 and 880 have it in the middle, which I like. When I get my own place I'll probably get the 880 (hopefully it will be less than $250 then, lol).
Other than that it's a great little gizmo. I like it!
