And lost my license, haven't driven since may 22nd. maybe another month at least until i get my license back. 🙁

 for drinking and driving.

 for not making a post asking how to get out of it or bitching about the cops.

i spent a night a jail, paid a fine to get out and thought that was it, never heard another word about it until i went to renew my drivers license this time. SC put a hold on it, the sad part is this is from 1990. Now i have to go to 16 hours of alcohol counseling, costing me around 1000.00 for all of this.

I agree. You made a mistake and are paying the price. At least you're not trying to get out of it.

Be eternally grateful that you didn't hurt or kill anyone, living the rest of your life with that hanging over you would be terrible.

i am grateful for that, but i was hardly drunk, i drank 2 beers and drove a 1/4 mile to the gas station (out in the country) to buy beer. While i was walking out with 2 cases of beer the cops came up to me and started asking me if i had been drinking, i told the truth, 2 beers, i was going home with the beer to drink it there. There was no breathalyzer test, just basically arrested me because i admitted to having the 2 beers. Very small town in SC and the cops did pretty much whatever they wanted in it.

Wow, you got a DUI without even driving. Congrats.

No DUI that I ever heard of gives you your license back unless you have gone to court and this is youre first time and you have attended classes of some kind......

A low range DUI here does, but that's 0.05-0.08, which is your limit anyway right?

Wow, I'm surprised they didn't have to, at the least, verify your status as "impaired" with a field sobriety test and/or breathalyzer conducted back at the station. Then again, requirements for establishing impairment might've been different back in 1990.

If your story is true, then I sort of have some sympathy with you; you weren't driving and they didn't perform any quantitative analysis yet you were charged with a crime.

For many people I would be surprised if 2 beers over time would even register as being over the limit.

Not only that... they didn't do any sort of analysis whatsoever from the story we've been told.

No alphabet backwards/walking a line/anything similar even???
