So I go see The Matrix: Reloaded and a 4 year old sits down next to me...

...and doesn't say a single word the entire movie! :Q

I was extremely suprised. I was real worried when the little girl, and her parents, sat down right next to me. I thought the child would make a lot of noise and ruin the movie for me (and everyone else).

I still don't know about taking a 4 year old to a movie like The Matrix, but I must say she was very well behaved.

I've been impressed with the kids in my area lately. Usually all I hear through the movies now are cell phones. Unfortunately the phones are across the theater from me instead of right in front of me, or they wouldn't be ringing a second time during the movie.

Parents that actually teach their child to sit down and be quiet when they're in a place like that. :D

Talking about bad parenting. We went to a 11:30PM showing of The Matrix thinking there wouldn't be kids going that late. But I guess that doesn't keep stupid parents from bringing their kid anyway. Half way through the movie, the kid started crying. Of course, it's WAAY past his bed time. This went on for about 30 minutes before she finally decided to walk out with the kids. Then everyone started to applaud. If I weren't too busy watching the movie, I would gave her a piece of my mind.

Christ.. As much as I like the movie, it's hardly appropriate for children.

at 4 i doubt they understand whats going on
That's completely irrelevant. Just because they don't understand yet doesen't mean it's okay for them to see the images.

Besides, you would be surprised. People don't give kids nearly enough credit.

I think it has to do with givng your children too much attention. I've noticed that babied children are always more louder and obnoxious than others. 'Ignored' (for use of a better word) children seem to be able to occupy themselves easier and quicker than a child whose parents shower them with too much attention. Don't get me wrong, you should spend time with your kids, but sometimes too much isn't good...

What?

I was talking about the parents of the 4 year old child. Not all parents teach their kids to be respectful when they're in public places such as a movie theater or restaurant.

I don't know, I was babied as a child and I was my mom's first kid (there's nothing like your first kid she says), and I'm about as quiet as you can get. Hehe :)

Had a parent cuss out someone when the wife and I saw X2, they were complaining because their 3 y/o was whining and crying, babbling and basically would not shut up nor did the parents try to keep it quiet. Someone nearby told them to keep the monster quiet or take them from the theater...The reply was basically We paid for this fcking ticket and he has every right to talk if he wants to, leave me the f alone...

The kid mysterously shut up when someone left to get a manager...

I was totally amazed by the parents behavior.

One time in Phoenix I was watching Blade and a parent had their rugrat there. After about the 8th-10th time of being told to take him outside it eventually sunk in. People stood up and applauded when she took him outside. She did not return.
