I am in Louisiana taking care of my grandmother for a few weeks. I could only deal with dial up for a few days. I had DSL hooked up today. What I screwed up on is that I did not search for any unsecured wireless networks in the area...So, pay for the modem and crap today..THEN decided to search for something I could get on. Grrr.....right of the bat I pick up 2. One was secured, one not. It is a great connection, too! 
I wonder if I can return the modem. I bet I will still be stuck paying for a month of service even if I cancel now.
