So I get a ticket...

In December. The cop was pretty cool and told me to come to court in January and he would speak with the prosecutor to drop the points. I show up to court in Jan as expected and they tell me that they don't have the ticket in the computer and that they would reschedule.

So i'm sitting in court right now and they tell me that they are going to have to reschedule yet again because this date was improperly scheduled.

I mean WTF is going on here? This is starting to get annoying now. Do I have any options in this situation or am I at the helms of our wonderful justice system?

Depends on the state and the laws on their books. In MD, if you go to court and the officer is not present, the case is dismissed. In NJ, I believe you have to wait until the 3rd no-show before it is dismissed.

But possible. Last year I got a $500 failure to chain going over Snoqualmie here in WA state (in big rig). Wrote to court to fight it and they said they had no record of the ticket. The court clerk who responded said the officer most likely did throw it out. It hadn't shown up on my record when I got an overweight ticket 8 months later.
