and they say I am missing some classes needed to graduate, when I am 99% sure that I have taken and passed all my classes that are required to graduate. I have a plane ticket to MN leaving in a week, all my junk is ready to be shipped there, and I'm ready to move there to get a job. This sucks. Hopefully it's something on their end. Bleh! Whatta way to ruin a weekend. Just had to share with everybody. Have a good day. :)

*UPDATE*
Just wanna share with y'all that I have one more term of class left. Apparently on my degree plan, they didn't bother to write down that I need TWO additional electives in the upper division offerings to fulfill my graduation requirements. Yes, I know that it is my fault for not checking around. But, for 2 years I've followed this plan and they don't even send me a letter that I'm missing some classes? Even a letter before the term of my porposed graduation date would be better than the letter sent out last week, 3 weeks after what I thought was my last term at that school. Yes, I know some of you are going to say it's my fault for not checking it prior to graduation, but even my advisor and professors wonder why I wasn't contacted until AFTER the term has ended and me thinking I've graduated. I'll have to wait till next term (April) and then finish up. What a waste since I have to fly to MN this weekend, and then fly back to finish school. Oh well, lesson learned here.

Maybe they missed a waiver on a pre-requisite course from early on?
Happened to me.... Prof. forgot he had waived the "intro to music" requirement as I was multi instrumentally proficient.

I looked at my records online and I have 244 of 248 credits completed. Maybe I can have all those extra credits substitute for some other class. It doesn't help that this last Spring term they changed the English department requirements and credits around. I'm really hoping it's something on their end.

The way it worked when I was in school was after 2 years you met with your advisor to make sure this didn't happen.

Nope, 2 years before. Thats when I applied for my specialized program. About your requirements changing, that shouldn't make a diff. When I was in school the requirements were what your program started with, not whatever they changed to over your four years.

Well, they changed the credits from 3 to 4 and reduced the number of classes that everybody had to take. So instead of taking three classes at 3 credits each, they can take two classes at 4 credits and it would still fulfill the requirements. This way the faculty says that there is more options for students since they won't have to take a sequence of classes. They can take 2 of the 3 classes offered in that sequence. This is to avoid waiting one year to take a class that is only offered in the spring. So in my situation, they said they waived one of the classes that I had to take since I already took a lot of other classes that are about equal. *siiiigh* I don't want to stay another 6 months here in Oregon. Blah!

Ok, I think your advisors are full of sh!t. First of all, you are supposed to have a catalog that you follow. You should be eligible for your degree as long as you complete that list of classes. The school can enforce changes in your degree plan as long as it's to your benefit (for instance, you took a class that now meets two requirements instead of one). But, they cannot add hours to your total and cannot tell you that a class you have already completed now doesn't count for anything. I would walk straight into my advisor's office and speak with them about it. If they tried to change my degree plan without my approval, I would raise hell and make an appointment with the dean of the program.

Same sort of thing happened to me. I was all ready to graduate, when I found out I had one more class to take. I thought I had filled a requirement by taking a certain class, was even told by an advisor that it fulfilled the requirement. Well it turned out that it didn't fulfill the requirement, and they wanted me to take a class that did. I talked to my advisor about it, and eventually got them to waive the requirement for me, so I didn't have to take the class at all. Whew!
