Updated with a two more vids, C32 lead on the climb, I lead on the downhill. I had to slow down quite often otherwise I won't be in the shot. Just changed brakes, haven't been fully bedded in yet so a few corners kinda "surprised" me. Enjoy.

Up hill, he has almost twice as much HP as I do.

Downhill, caught myself at 1:14, thought I would have to get new rear quarter panel...

Old stuffs...
I'll just leave this here... < Descend
Ascend

So, uh, I wonder who owns that nice shiny BMW... :p

Give the AMG owner a bitchslap for where he mounted his RD.

Edit:
Oh and yeah, that looks like fun.

I heard it's even more fun than a roller coaster, supposedly. I think there's an ascension video too, don't know if I can find it.

Are you the one with the C32 AMG? Sweet car, I drove a C55 AMG a few times and as a street car that wont be tracked, its a great street sport-muscle-luxury vehicle.

It's too bad you can't find Mercedes or AMGs with manuals anymore though.

Nope, I'm in the black car, believe it or not the AMG was having a hard time keeping up (climb or downhill). My buddy was driving it and he said his traction control shut him off a few times, it's not shown in that run, but later when we pushed a bit harder it shut him down or put him in limp mode. I was leading then. The AMG didn't have great weight distribution to begin with, and front grip was questionable; he did a lot to that car, but it's still couldn't do good in twisties. They're great for high speed courses though, which we'll run next time.

That is weird, the C55's ESP/trac control can be turned off by pressing a button. It's not one of those, sort of off, higher threshold buttons either but a full, power on oversteer off. The C55 is also the same gen as the C32, just a bigger motor, marginally more power and a sweet noise.

Yeah, you can turn it off, but he has lots of torque that would throw him around on those twisties, not a good combo. We drove with DSC on for safety...

Looks fun, but why were you guys driving on the left hand side of the road at one point? Are you fucking stupid or just not thinking? :p

Or... it could be that when my buddy edited the video, he flipped that footage on accident? Sherlock Holmes you're not, that's for sure. :p

Because it was huge, I had to cut it down to upload it quicker.

That doesn't make sense, because I'm pretty sure the camera car is on the left side, one car is in the middle, and the lexus is on the right.

Watch the video again, this time pay attention.

Lol. I really like it, regardless.

I love AMG mercedes, they're fun cars.

How many horsies does your bmw 330ci have? Is it a manual?

It looks nice, gleaming little pearl you got.

Yeah, but not as fun as my bimmer, ask me how I know. ;)

Edit: It doesn't have much (I believe 225 rated, and about the same for torque, but it's flat from 1500 RPMs and up), and it's also autotragic (or some people likes to call it), but I can embarrass most stick drivers up there with my steptronic. :p

Well that sounds cool. I dunno, I like BMW's suspension over mercedes' its more sporty, but at the same time, the AMG has a nice little V8 hauling ass.

Yup, he'll take me in a straight line, that's for sure. But driving is not all about straight line now is it? ;).

BMWs have some really, really sweet transmissions. The E46 5 and 6 speed manuals are sweet, short throw, smooth as butter shifters with direct, natural feeling clutches. If I had to pick a favorite manual transmission, I'd say its the 5 speed in a E46 325i. The Steptronic auto is great for an automatic though. It actually shifts when you tel it to shift unlike Mercedes unit which unless in Manual mode, if you press the shift lever, sort of waits a bit and does its own thing before swapping gears.

Yup, but believe it or not a lot of steptronic drivers don't know how to use it properly, sad.
