1/4 German, 1/8 Norwegian, 1/8 Swiss, 1/4 Scots-Irish, 1/4 unknown (but likely English and Scandinavian at least to an extent). I'm proud to be a part of the master race.
I recently sent in a mouth swab to 23andme.com and these were my results:
-snip-
In terms of family tree, my understanding based on my parents' knowledge of their respective sides of the family, is that I'm almost entirely Irish with a little bit of German possibly on my mother's side.
I've always thought I was 50% Norwegian, 50% Irish, my wife signs up for Ancestry.com and we learn that my maternal grandma's mom was german!
Ever since then I've been all like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpBkUY62TtM
!!!!
Political borders don't say much about ethnicity in Europe.
I've been wanting to take one of those DNA tests for a while, but i already know what my result is going to be... 100% Scandivian, so it probably wont be as much fun.
a lot of the genes you'd be shown as having would come up like mine "nonspecific northern European" and you never know, you might find a surprise in there.
If nothing else, it might be interesting to see what your neanderthal % is.
the site also tells you what diseases you have elevated risk for, or reduced risk for.

:whiste:Both my parents are Indian so that makes me 100% cheap as hell.
