You clearly did all the side quests *except* the important one (Wrex).

yea, the first game did have many lame quests like this, but a great overall storyline.
The second game has the mining mini-game which is pretty much the same thing, but necessary to upgrade your ship, which is critical for the endgame.
DA2 was such a disappointment because that franchise had established itself as the classic PC-style team-oriented rpg, and DA2 tried to be ME...or so people say. I still haven't played it.
One reason doesn't exclude the other. I agree with everything said about it being rushed.DA2 doesn't suck because its a console port. It sucks because EA rushed bioware to get it out within 8 months of DA's release, I found a blog post by 2 of bioware's former devs confirming this.
Its blatantly obvious - most of the items don't even have proper descriptions and most of the game takes place in the same area while you run around and collect quests in the same city. Its a shoddy job of a rush, and i'm disappointed that EA forced bioware to rush it.

It was however, also an attempt by EA to reach out to a broader audience - meaning - the more casual style gamers - or less diplomatic put, the type of console kiddies who likes spawning ninjas and the awesome button.
The tech (consoles) is not at fault - it's EA catering to the lowest common denominator that is the problem.
You will enjoy side quests of Mass Effect 2.
