So i finally gave in and tried Counterstrike..

my first time playing at my brother place.. now i am downloading the full retail update file worth 115MB....

so anytip for this first time newbie?? I know people on here are crazy about CS!

i haven't played since that dumb patch came out and messed around with the physics of the game. besides that- burst fire (and i hope people still do that in the game)

the way i learned was with mp5 and just circle-jump around the guy or circle strafe

haha i know i am a bit late.. i just stopped playing tribes 1 not too long ago, i was too in to tribes to try anything else, now that i finally tried Cs, its not that bad, so i guess i'll give it a try

Yea I think the craze has died down.

When you run out of ammo in your primary weapon always get ready to switch over to the secondary ie the handgun

Desert Eagle is nice or if you have guts whip out the knife and st@b the enemy

yeah, i played from 2 years to last year.. when 1.4 came out and changed it all

its more fun to play with ppl u know. when u join public servers... everyone is a tough guy. its just annoying.

BAH. I still enjoy playing CS. No other game is better if you've got 15 or 20 mintutes to kill. Some tips:

Always buy armor if you can. It will save your life if someone comes at you with a submachine gun.
You can quickly switch to your side arm by hitting "Q", this good if your primary's clip runs out
Remember that your accuracy is dramatically affected by your running, standing still, or crouching. Also try to maintain short, controlled bursts of fire. Most guns become wildly innaccurate after 5 or 6 consecutive rounds.

That'll give ya a decent start! Have fun!

Newbie tips....learn how to move. Practice on empty maps (set up your own game). Practice walking, so you not stumbling around like a drunk.

Join losing teams....learn where you get flanked, where you get attacked, where you can attack on each map. CS is all about positioning and teamwork, in the higher levels of play...everyone is good enough to kill in 1 or 2 shots, you just have to be in the right place with teamwork to win.

Path 1.5 isnt that bad but once a hacker/cheater use glock or aimbot <----it'll ruin the whole game

I'm playing it on and off at times. still get a kick outta it.

The old popular online games (CS, Q3) aren't as good anymore.. point releases and patches always seem to do more harm than good.. sure they fixo other issues but I remember when 1.27 came out for Q3.. TOTALLY screwed up the physics.. pissed me off.. and CS and all that punkbuster crap and everything.. made me stop playing it... it was just blah.. but they're still fun when there is no CHEATING BASTARDS. = teh f00ls.

dying out for u guys? In my area mid last year a lanplace opened accross the street from school..since then our school is in cs havok. Everyone in my calc class has played it or is playing it lol. Since then we now have 5 lan places in the area lol.

When I last reformatted my hard drive, I decided not to go and install CS. Americas Army pretty much sealed its fate in my eyes. Rainbow Six had too many network code problems to keep playing it, and CS was the next best thing. I played that game from beta 7 up to 1.4. It had its time, it made a nice run and I have fond memories, but its dead to me.

Between Americas Army and UT2K3, and next spring with Raven Shield, Ill be up to my neck in first person shooters, all built of the beautiful Unreal engine.

I quit playing CS after being fed up with all the stupid cheating. I'm hesitant to play multiplayer again -- I focus on single player games now. No One Lives Forever 2 is awesome!
