I just installed clipless pedals, and I'm still getting the hang of them. I did the entire 2 hour run without problems. When i got to the end of the trail I got off for a second. As i was getting back on... Well, i'll let the pics explain. :D

Clipless pedals are a real learning experience :D I recently switched from SPD to speedplays, they're so much better.

Ya, first is really good. Last is also pretty good. But about the biking, sux, but to be expected. If you start going hardcore, you are going to hurt yourself more than some scratches, as a rule.

neither

in the first pic, immediately at the base of the mountain, the left side is glendale, and the right burbank

Griffith park is off to the right, over the other hill you see

i was worried at first, but they turned out to be more comfortable than i expected.
I've been using them for about 2 weeks now, and except little things like in the OP, i haven't had any major problems with them.

Clipless FTW :D

Holy hell at the third LA pic.

It looks as if a gate to Oblivion is opening right over the city.

I grew up riding (both bikes and motorcycles) the mountains north of the San Fernando Valley around Granada Hills/Northridge/Sylmar. Great riding to be had. It's a shame many of the places I used to ride have houses now, though.

Thats really nothing...I've done plenty worse from bike injuries, but few scars since I take care of myself.

Awesome pictures though, wish I could go to LA some time!

Bah, that's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. If you wanna be pansy about it and not get scars, go to a place that sells vitamins (Hi Health or GNC) and pick up some liquid vitamin e and dabble it on those cuts.

There was a guy in my english class a couple semesters ago that was into rock climbing. Every now and then he'd come back from a weekend and have some impressive new cuts. His best was when he was bleeding from his knee and trying to ask people to stop and help him. One girl was like "I'd stop and help you, but I'm afraid you might rape me or something".
