Personally, I'd do landscaping. You're outdoors, you get to sleep in or leave early when the weather's bad, and you get to learn some skills you can use when you buy a home.

..

Yes?

So what the hell is your problem?

Yeah yeah, I know. Its just...this is not the standard way of doing it. Haha, I'm mostly thrown off by that. I was expecting an interview...not being thrown right into it I guess.

This is a moving company. You are not applying for a job at google.

This man has a point.

That's your interview and practical tests. If he likes you, you're in. If not, you're not. Couldn't be simpler than that
Go!

Hopefully they give you a little training on how you are supposed to lift things. Like one guy said above, squat down and use your legs. Don't bend over at the waist. If you screw up your back it can be something you have to live with for a lifetime, so make sure you lift things correctly.

This isnt a skilled job that youre going for. Show up and see how things work out. Unless you plan on keeping this job for life, you get a paycheck and start saving some money.

he walked into the restaurant and before they even let him sit down, the biggest guy pointed at a nearby table and said "ok tiny, let's see you pick that up and load it on the truck"

It'll be alright. You're going to be sore as all heck for a few weeks I'm sure, unless you've done this type of labor before. Hands, back, shoulders are gonna be in pain. :D You get use to it pretty fast though.

Whenever I've applied for a job and then they've accepted I've been like WTF I don't want that, and not shown up. It's the best thing to do!

You want an interview, but why? You're not going to be running accounts receivable, just moving sh*t around. Trying you out tomorrow is the interview. Make sure you settle on pay before you begin and don't be scared to do that.

How'd you decide on trying a moving company for a job?

I have a summer to kill. I've been hunting and the jobs availible to a no skill labor are...

1) Fast food
2) Warehouse
3) Moving
4) Landscaping

I find moving to be the most appealing...

Dude, I basically do Lanscaping at the Milwaukee County Zoo. I get paid $13/hour during the summer and the worst I have to do is move around some hay bales, lift planters full of flowers/trees, move around and lift 5 gallon buckets of water, do some digging/pitchforking, and use some basic power tools (chainsaws, tillers, etc.).

I'd much rather be doing that than lifting some heavy a$$ appliances and furtature.

I always wondered how people got those jobs.

There's always a bunch of hotties working at the Milw zoo in the summer. I go to look at the chicks while my kids are looking at the animals.
