So, I drove in a snow storm on my summer only tires.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. 285 in the back and 255 up front. Was a terrible experience. I would not have done so if I didn't have to pick a up a suit that night. Snow rims and tires were put on as soon as weather permitted.

Next year I won't be so lazy when it comes to putting on proper shoes.

Those tires are pure s#@%. I just took the OEM G2 version of those off my car and swapped for Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Obviously, neither are for cold weather, but so far, the Michelins are better in *every* way. Comfort, handling, colder temp traction, etc. I hear the F1s are good onec you heat them up to hard track driving temps, but any other time (and I've had them as oem tires on 2 cars), they're pretty bad.

Yeah, but for the price I paid for them, you'd use them too. When it comes time to replace them, Pilot Sports will probably be my choice....as of now anyways. Plus they are night and day difference (better) than the Pirelli P Zero Nero's that came on the car. These tires are like glue on hot pavement....as I'm sure any performance tire is.

I got them and 1st gen GT500 rims brand new for $800 for all 4. The rims alone are $600 each from the dealer.

I rocked slicks and skinnies in a snow storm once, THAT was a fun trip.... I damn near had to let the car idle over to the new place, but thankfully it was only a few mile trip and I made it fully white knuckled.

its pretty amazing what good tires can do, even in the snow. i need to buy a new set for my ranger, but im torn on what to buy because i know im saving up for them and i dont care if i spend a little extra to have something above average.
