We had to update some virus definitions on a computer by computer basis because this particular site got totally hosed and we couldn't manage with Symantec server.

I connect to one random computer and the user is just sitting there playing solitaire. I didn't move my cursor fast enough so he noticed that I had connected, and promptly closed solitaire, opened up some random documents and pretended to start working.

VNC is so good to me.. haha.

meh...not as good when you tell people you are going to connect and say "don't use your computer for a few minutes while I work on it." Then you try to do your thing and they just start working away, fighting you for mouse control...argh

Terminal Services can be an even bigger pain. You're working on something and then suddenly (BOOM), someone logs on with a shared ID and knocks you off the system.

By the time you find out who logged on, they already closed what you're working on and lost all your data :(

Do THAT a few times, and ponying up for a few additional user licenses suddenly seems like a good idea :)

Nah, no fun. The trick is to get the person remoting in to get so disgusted they voluntarily disconnect.

Just open up your browser and play a video from CNN or something. The live video will generally bring the connection down a crawl. :D
