So I coasted her into the gas station today

Going 3 days with the gas light on is a bit much. I'm not concerned though, I put 2 gallons in. I'll be set for another week or 2.

heh sheesh! sounds like me.

I do not drive much. I used to LOVE to drive. i would go out almost all day on sunday. Me and the wife would just take roads that looked fun. go places all over IL, Indiana, Iowa and wisconsin (been to 2 beer breweis heh).

But lately about the last year i have been driving maybe 15 miles a week.

why don't you walk? Sure doesn't seem like 2 gallons would get someone far in 1-2 weeks... Hopefully it's a moped.

Yeah...those mopeds get great mileage, huh?

I know someone who ran it with the gas light on for a little too long: they ran out of gas on the freeway and got rear-ended by a semi. No permanent injuries, though, so I guess you can keep running on empty.

get a diesel and be over with it.

Why? Diesel is more expensive.

in the winter diesel should cost around 2.29, which is about 15 cents more than regular. In the summer, when regular is usually up, diesel should be about 20-25 cents less than regular. Even then, a Civic will get about 500 on a tank.Let alone diesels can go into the 300,000 mile range.

It always depends on how you drive it. Many gas cars can also go into the 300,000 mile range. It just depends on how it's driven.

I start looking for a gas station when I get to a quarter tank....

Edit: Even though that's over four gallons in my car, lol.... (Although the gauge is not completely accurate, so it's probably a bit less than that when it shows 1/4 tank.)

I have a 93 bmw and it has 150,000 miles on it and it still runs like it is brand new....all depends on the car...

I filled up my car yesterday when the light was on. I kept driving, pulled over, filled up. It filled up slightly more than 14 gallons when the tank is a 14 gallon tank, AFAIK that is

Sounds like me. My gasoline usage last year was $231.
