New Dell nehalem-based server, mine has a xeon x3440, which is the 2.53ghz variation with hyper-threading. Bought the cheap base model with only the CPU upgraded, was around $450, included a 160GB hard drive and 2GB RAM but I figured I'd rather just upgrade those myself than pay Dell.
Installed ESXi 4.0 when it arrived, but it didn't see the hard disk. Fortunately ESXi 4.0 update 1 fixed this, installed it the day it came out a week later.
2 2GB RAM DIMMS from crucial arrived the other day, and I installed them along with some old raptor 36GB drives I had, and a newer 7200rpm 640GB drive.
Running 4 differnt VMs on the server now, windows home server, windows server 2008 r2, windows xp, and ubuntu linux 9.10
