Like the topic says, the old owners email is being forwarded to my blackberry since the other night (I've had the phone for a month or two).

I sent her an email saying:
Your emails have been sending to the blackberry you sold me since yesterday.
Vague, I know... I should have probably explained more but I was at work.

I'm still receiving emails a day later and she never responded, so I sent her another email today.
please stop your emails from sending to my blackberry.

No where did I say SHE was sending me emails, I told her that her emails were being sent to my (her old) blackberry.

I get this response from her:
I have not sent you ANY EMAILS!!

"I DONT KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!"

I haven't responded to her email yet. I have ~200 emails of hers which synced up to the blackberry. I have looked at a couple as they come in (about 10 every hour, its very annoying), she ordered pizza from Dominos tonight. It looks like she works for a lender or runs her own business. The emails are coming from her personal hotmail account, which leads me to believe its either a crappy company or her own business. Either way, I now have what appear to be clients personal files.

This wouldn't be a problem if she wasn't a POS ebayer and would have sent me the blackberry account info like i asked, but she never responded to my emails. Her fault.

Okay ATOT what should I do. How shall I proceed from here on out? I don't want to do anything to her clients info. I think I have her paypal and ebay account information... I could reset her password for them and lock her out but I don't think I want to go that route.

UPDATE 11/20/07
I ended up sending her an email asking her how pizza was last night.

I forgot to remove my signature from the email, so my phone number was still there. A couple hours after that I received a call from a private number, I didn't answer whoever it was didn't leave a message. Another call from a private number the next day, didn't answer and the person didn't leave a message. I'm assuming it was her, but I don't answer numbers I don't know.

Hours later I got an notice on the blackberry stating the email was deactivated. I guess she figured it out.

Yes, I know... pretty boring. But if anyone cared I thought they should know.

It sounds like you have some other e-mail address for her. If so, forward to her some of the more sensitive e-mails with a note on each asking "Do you really want your e-mail to still forward to MY Blackberry?"

Was it reset before you got it?

It's been a couple years since I did anything with BES but a master reset might stop it. IIRC doing that would require re-syncing the device via USB to get it working again.

Again, YMMV since the version of BES I was using is quite old now.

I use BES at work, if this was on a BES then that would be fine. Its not, its a personal blackberry so email push is done through the blackberry website.

She did do a factory reset on the device, but that won't change the configs on the blackberry website.

Are you sure it's not the blackberry checking email through POP/SMTP servers?

Might not be something on her end at all.

Same thing happened to me after I purchased a 7250 off Ebay. I called Sprint and they created a new email account for me thatw as attached to that device. That fixed everything.

If you haven't already, try wiping it.

Options > Security Options > General Settings > [click scroll-wheel] > Wipe Handheld

Of course, you'll want to first back up any data that you've put on the device since you got it.

You have access to her email account and haven't signed up for emailed lesbian porn yet?

Go to the provider's BIS site.
Click "forgot password."
Enter PIN in box.
When BB receives PIN message with password, go back to site and log in (username should be the BB email account you're receiving her messages at).
Remove any forwarding accounts in BIS setup.

I sold a phone once and didn't wipe the device...the guy that bought it (ebay) tried to be all creepy to us and was trying to threaten us for his full payment back (and keep the device).

I told him he could call whoever he wanted at will then (all japan based numbers) and do whatever, I would be calling my carrier to report the device stolen.

He changed his tune quickly.

Yep, this will 100% work. If it doesn't, your cell provider can also reset this password.

Unless she has her Hotmail account forwarding to the blackberry, then what iamwiz82 would be right

This was a few years ago with Sprint and I could not create an account because the PIN was already used. That's when I had to call.
