So I bought a 24 pack of Beer

I have been on a search for this beer for about 6 months, it is not sold in Georgia because the alcohol content is far too high, but it is considered the holy grail for hop heads. Today, I flew into Pittsburgh, and had a 24 pack waiting for me at the distributor.
I am sitting at my laptop in a hotel, and have poured my first bottle. I have not tasted the beer, but the color is almost that of the caramelized top of a pumpkin pie, very nice. It poured smooth with a slight head, but the smell is amazing, very sweet, very pungent.

Wow, what a sweet beer, it is incredibly hoppy, but sophisticatedly balanced by the sweetness of the brew. I have a feeling this is going to go down way too smoothly for such a high grav beer.

It leaves a slightly bitter after taste, but over all it's a very good beer.

You know how much I wanted this. My girlfriend has been hating every moment of it since the inkling that I would get a whole case. I didnt shut up about it.

Bah beer is swill. Talk to us when you grow up and develop a taste for some good single malt Scotch.

Considering I can age this beer, and plan to, for about 6 years. I think that puts it a little above "swill".

You realize that scotch is just dehydrated beer right?

I don't turn my nose up at anything fermented.

Dogfish head is one of my favorite breweries. They really have a creative outlook and produce some wild stuff. I love the anthropological stuff they come out with like:
Chateau Jiahu
Midas Touch

Jeez, I looked up an online price of $190 + $50 shipping.

I wouldn't mind a sixpack, but jeez.

Not being a hophead, I've never bought it. I did try Dreadnaught, and it was good, just not my thing.

I'm not surprised Quasmo did though, he's a bit goofy after all.

So after 6 years it still will be beer.

You realize that scotch is just dehydrated beer right?
You realize that coal is just uncompressed diamonds right?

Can I make diamonds with Xvid and Coal?

Nice, OP.

From your description, I take it that this is not one of the many (imho) over-hopped monstrosities brewed more for testoserone-laden bragging rights, but is truly a balanced yet heady brew!

However, your title:

definitely shows you're no native Pennsylvanian, where we buy our cases from distributors.

Well, I wanted to make sure everyone knew I meant 24 pack. But I did buy the case from the distributor. It ended up being $30 cheaper than the distributor in TN.

So I just finished the first beer and I want another one. It left a very fine hint of citrius in my mouth. Very faint, but very good, a great way to end the beer. I'd definately give this beer an A. Still looking for that A+ though.

I'm going to finish this case off way too quickly.

Fancy, IPA's just are not my style though. They sell 60/90/120 regularly at my local store by the bottle or four pack.

I'll be the first to say that I'm jealous. We just started getting the 90-minute, Palo Santo, and Midas' Touch here in San Diego. Apparently Dogfish Head's new satellite brewery in Arizona is gearing up to make the 120, but it's not quite here yet. I can't wait!

I definitely am going to get a bottle of their world wide stout next year. $10 for a 12oz, and I was to cheap to pick any up last year. Although it is 18% ABV

I would love to try the WWS, even though I'm not that big of a fan of Stouts.
