So I beat Doom 3 last night

I never did develop an affection for D3. When I finished it, ho hum.

HL2, for all its faults, did have get me involved in its characters and story. I was pissed when it ended.
 
i forgot to save my games when I reformatted windows... starting from scratch again. gotta go through those damned child-bug-things. creepiest of all, IMHO
 
This is what makes games boring. "Beating" them. It's best to play games online against other players, in competition form. The challenge never ends.
 
KOTOR had a mild effect on me like you but i realized being sad over a game is dumb, but that game is an exception, very compelling

It's not dumb. A good game can be like a good novel--you don't want it to end.

I've played with the new pack, it's fantastic looking. I crank EVERYTHING up when I play HL2, unfortunately not even my X800XT can keep up in some parts.
 
st started playing Quake4 today.
If I wanted to run around in the dark I'd have played D3.
The suck is strong.

Multiplayer PWNS single player for any game. You can never "beat" a multiplayer game.

QFT, but stay away from the "Ever crack" stuff. It'll ruin your life, I swear to God. I wish I could have gotten back the YEARS of my life spent playing Warcraft (1,2), Diablo (1,2), Starcraft, Wolfenstein 3D, and Quake (1,2,3). (Blizzard and iD could make a MEAN game back in the day!)
 
All you people expected waaaay too much from it. I played it end to end, and enjoyed it, although 'monster in the closet' syndrome did annoy me in the middle, it got better in the end.

wow! And that's an unofficial texture pack? Valve should be incorporating these as default textures!
