That ended with the rise of feminism and equal rights.

And that was a sad sad day :(

heh...and you are probably one of those deluded males who think a wife only belongs in the kitchen.....

Are your washer, dryer and ironing board in the kitchen?

When her friends come to visit, wear mismatched socks. When they notice, just act nonchalantly. And hopefully, your wife would get the message.

Give her the same reaction the next time she asks you to mow the lawn or wash the car.
tried it... the whole double standards thing kicked in.

And you have only been married a few months.....you are in for a life of hell if you don't learn how to deal with this kind of crap NOW.
relax, I was just trying to be teh funnay. She does sort my socks and I do the lawnmowing without griping. The only thing I bitch about is doing the dishes but she finally succumbed to the idea that we'll just let the dishwasher run.

who the fvck has socks to sort? 157934643284327 identical white pairs, 1 black pair. How difficult is it to keep the two black ones together and just toss the white ones in a drawer and pick two at random?

Yeah it's now their role to change the oil in the car and cut the grass, right....

Believe that when I see it. Equal rights my ass, just created a double standard. They can still slap you without any negative outcome, you hit them back you're going to jail.

like said either in this thread or another...

some women want their cake and eat it too :p

But do they cook it?

There is alot more to housework then just cooking and dishes :D

Also if she stays in the kitchen how can she bring me a beer when I am watching the game?

So basically...what you want isn't a wife...what you want is a servant.

i do hope you can afford to pay them a decent salary!

We take it out i trade! :D

Now my wife does do the house work and stays home with the kids, I help around the house but usually I doing the outside stuff. I am the one who takes out the garbage and I also do laundry on occasion.

I have been teaching the boy to fetch me beer though and that is working pretty well :D

Wtf?

And there's no problem with sorting socks in my relationship. She will wash them and do whatever else I normally ask. For those of you that find that shocking - I do the same thing for her sometimes, willingly without being asked. I couldn't see not being willing to do something so trivial for your spouse under normal circumstances.

Well you're wrong there. :)

Buddy of mine has a wife that does whatever she's told. She doesn't work or do anything outside of the home. Dinner's ready when he gets home, laundry done (and socks sorted I'm sure :) ), house kept clean, etc. Just the way she does everything he says pisses me off everytime I'm around them...

but only because I'm jealous and want to know his secret! :D

This reminds me of a bad joke

What do you say to a woman with a black eye?

Nothing. You already told her to sort the socks once!

for the longest time I wouldn't let my wife sort my socks, underwear or tee shirts....she got so mad that I didn't let her that she almost yelled at me to let her do it :)....

I am guessing it was reverse psychology of a sort...but then again I am still picky about how things are done.

Oh the other rant - what is it with women getting married in their upper 30s and *demanding* to have a baby right away? WTF is up with that?

you are kidding right?

if they waited much longer they WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HAVE KIDS.
