The Matrix is the life force of the transformers. Basically, their "god".

I know this, because I have no life :p

I forgot hot "hardcore" this was for a cartoon movie....have you noticed how many famous voices are in this movie now? the guy from unsolved mysteries, the fast talking guy from micromachines commercials, "Shaggy" from scooby doo....plenty more. When did this thing come out?

96 or 97?!?!?!?!? More like 86 or 87. :)

Also, Orson Welles was the voice of Unicron. How cool is that?

Well, I just finished the second half. What bad can you say about a movie with a soundtrack that includes Van Halen and Weird Al Yankovic?

I think Leonard Nimoy did a voice job in that movie as well. '86 or so sounds about right. By the way, any self-respecting fan of the movie should download the music track "Stan Bush - The Touch". I'm sure Mr. Bush wouldn't mind if you snapped it up off of Napster for a quick listen. ;)

Is your *.asf version of the movie as small and crappy quality as mine? I'm guessing it's the same.

Yeah the movie is pretty hardcore. No movie other than Transformers would have half the cast killed off in it.

It would be like Pokemon The Movie just eliminating Pokemon 25-75 or something... it was wicked seeing it as a kid and watching all these Transformers die. I was like "what the... this cant be real!"

Seriously. Cartoon characters don't die! :)

And yeah, Nimoy was in it too. It came out in '86. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0092106

I want to know who did the voice of optimus prime. That has got to be the coolest voice. What would be even cooler would be if it came out on DVD and it included the making of Tansformers: The movie.

The DVD that is supposed to be coming out will suck ass. its an edited version that cuts out Spikes curse, some fighting, and screws up the beguinning credits and adds a lame thing at the end saying Optimus Prime will be back. Doesn't sound very promising.

my friends and i developed a new genre of music, called "transformer metal", ala The Touch. basically all you do is sing in a really high voice about things like "If you stay in school and listen to your parents, you will do well in all that you do! Yeah!" or something like that.

There is a Transformers DVD coming out soon. The full unedited version (supposed to contain Spike's profanity!) remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. VHS doesn't do this beast justice.

More than meets the eye!

It's too bad it won't be in widescreen format. From what I understand, Rhino didn't have the necessary materials to produce a widescreen version, so we're stuck with full screen.

I love the movie, but I'd pay out the ass to have a true theater-like format. Damn.

Does anyone have a release date on the DVD?

G.I. Joe: The movie is out on DVD now too.

Yay 80s cartoons!
