I never heard my alarm go off and I woke up to a ringing phone. By the time I got out of bed and walked over, it wasn't ringing anymore. So looked at the clock, 9:29am, and I'm supposed to be at work at 9:30am. :)

Over sleeping sucks!

5:30 every morning for me. It was easier before I started working out in the morning.

Why the hell are you guys getting up at 4-5am? Even if you have to be at work at 6:30, you don't need to get up that early.

I work 6:30-3:30.

I leave the house at 5:15, it takes me 15-20 minutes to walk to the bus stop.

I get to work at 6:05-6:10.

Not driving sucks.

Luxury! We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, work twenty hours a day at mill, for twopence a month, come home, and dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were lucky!

I've done that before. I use the radio as my alarm because I can't stand the sound of the buzzer. A thunderstorm knocked out the station one night and my alarm the next morning was just dead air. I didn't wake up until after 9:30am and was supposed to be at work at 8am.

As for my work hours... they change drastically. My job includes lots of travel (I do audits in the field) so my start time here at the lab is normally 8am, but when I'm traveling I may work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift... or combinations of each at the same time and my work hours can literally be at any hour of the day.

I have to be at work at 5:30 a.m. - unlocking campus buildings from 5:30 - 8:30 at the U of M.

You forgot to mention the 2 mile walk back home, uphill, in the snow!

Well, of course, we had it tough! We used to have to get up out of the shoebox in the middle of the night, and lick the road clean with our tongues! We had to eat half a handful of freezing cold gravel, work twenty-four hours a day at mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our dad would slice us in two with a breadknife!
