So how would you ship three packages of paper towels via UPS?

If you're Staples, you just slap a label on it and call it a day D:

Needless to say, the bags are ripped open and the "clean" paper towels have black UPS grime on them.

Sounds like the paper towels did their job. :hmm:

It's amazing what they'll ship as long as there is a label on it.

I was really surprised when Tire Rack shipped my tires by just lashing 2 of them together and slapping a label on them. At the ski patrol I volunteer at we get our backboards shipped back to us from hospitals and they usually just put a label on them too.

So does this mean I can slap a label on myself and go anywhere for cheap? Kinda like flat Stanley?

On the phone with the Staples CSR right now. He actually started laughing and said he's never heard of anything like that happening before. He's sending me out three more packages and has made a note to have these shipped in -- you guessed it -- a box for free! :)

CSR also said to keep these, and he's crediting my back for the original three.

I bought a bunch of paper towels/TP from staples. Half came like yours, the other half came boxed up.

Why, were they damaged somehow?

I mean, they're paper towels...

The only thing protecting the paper towels is the outer plastic that holds them all together. They are not individually wrapped (I wouldn't have complained in that case). Since the outer package was ripped open, some of the paper towels have black grime on them which extends across "rings" of the paper towels if you were looking at them from the top/bottom.

Paper towels are used to clean objects/hands. Why would you want a pre-soiled towel to clean something? Would you wipe your ass with toilet paper that was drug through dirt? (I know it's not exactly the same thing, but you get my drift ;) ).

Regardless, it was their mistake and they corrected it.

LOL

And LOL at buying paper towels online.

Not sure why you're laughing cuz we're paying diddly squat for paper towels.

I bought a year's worth of paper towels and toilet paper from staples. My OOP cost was something like $6.

I buy paper towels, toilet paper, and diapers online. I don't understand what's so weird? Hell, thanks to Amazon Prime, I do most of my shopping online.

If the price is cheaper, and there's free shipping, there's nothing to LOL about in most cases.

Just seems silly to buy something like that online when it can be bought locally. In that case it's free shipping, but had it been normal price it would end up being more expensive.

None of us are buying paper towels online at retail price...you can't pay for paper towels with recycled ink cartridges locally ;)

If it was normal price and more expensive, I wouldn't have bought it online. But it's MUCH cheaper and free shipping so why not. I'm not following your logic.

LOL. Exactly! You do the same thing I do :)

$69 for 400 empty ink cartridges on eBay = $800 in Staples Rewards spread out over nearly two years. Then use that "cash" for cheap household goods (I also buy gift cards every now and then).
