So how would one arrange for an Ox sacfrifice?

Who do you call to get the ox?

Slaughter the ox?

Ritualistically prepare and cook the ox? Probably outdoors on a spit.

Ox recipes?

What would this cost? We're talking getting an ox to Seattle...

Any better and/or more reasonable choices for sacrifice and consumption?

Sounds like your talking about a BBQ, not a sacrifice.

Yeah, this is true, though it would be nice to have a bit of ceremony to the whole thing, the HR manager is a druidess after all. She'd probably dig some pagan this or that.

And to answer a bunch of the "wtf"'s, I returned to an old temp job today after getting back from performing in Oregon for 4 months. They've got a timeline for their big project I'm working on, and one of the items is "BBQ ox". (It was apparently originally a goat, then that got nixed. At one time it was "tofu ox") Anyway, this is 99% for scoring humor points here at the office. Would love to give them a comprehensive plan on what all they'd need, how much it would cost, maybe some different flavors of ceremony or cooking, etc. ;)

Wouldn't be in my backyard per se, more the office's backyard, though would be interested in hearing what sort of regulations are out there.

To be certain, this is 9/10 joke, but I want to come up with a rock solid plan to present :)

You might check catering/rental places for a spit of sufficient size. Method of slaughter may depend on ritual preparation. I imagine cooking an entire ox on a spit would take a while, so I hope you plan on starting early :p

Nope, but I'd like to. When I can spare time, I plan on preparing a report (ha, should do a powerpoint presentation) that just blows their socks off. History of ox cookin', Cost breakdowns... etc. etc. Just in the planning stages now and looking to gather info. If it sounds fun, keep givin' suggestions. If not, go... uh... go... uhm... uh, go sit on it! (it's hard work being this tough)

You should turn this into the official ATOT alternative religion thread.

I'm sure many of us are looking for a good source of newt eyes or bat's wings.

I know I've been scouring garage sales for a sacrificial altar. So far without much luck.
