So how should I tell my friend I am not going to room with him next year?

We don't talk that much anymore anyway and we live together now. We were getting an apartment next year together but he wants his friend who does drugs (marrihuana and alcohol) and I don't want to live with the drug addict. We told him no drugs next year and he said okay. Then Friday my roomate told me he broke up with his girlfried a few does before (like last tuesday) and that my friend Neal was comming over his friend Max (the one supposed to room with us). I was like okay, and then later that night the showed up with alcohol. Needless to say I was mad because he didn't tell me they were brining illegal drugs (alcohol) over. I know next year they are going to be drinking together and I don't want ot live in that environment especially since I didn't want to live with Max in the first place. What should I tell him? I might just say I am getting my own apartment next year you will have to find someone else to live with.

Just tell him those exact reasons...I didn't have as concrete reasons last year, but my roommate and I were fine. It's better than getting stuck with something/someone you don't want.

He knew it pissed me off. He looked at me like a dog that fvcked up when I saw the alcohol. I already told him seriously about 10 times that I don't want to live with Max and he always blows it off, and so I am going to live on my own. He is also one of the cheapest people in the world. He doesn't want to spend a dime on anything and leeches off of others. His family is the same way, his mom tried to borrow superglue from us before because she didn't want to go to the store to buy some.

Yea, it's no big deal. Longer you hold from speaking out.. it'll be harder to say.. so just tell him.. "I gotta really start getting my **** together.. so I'm gonna live alone so I can study.." or something or just say "Sorry I wanted to live with another group" no big deal.

start to be a super slob and make him not want to room with you! Leave your dirty undies in the living room and act like its normal. Or join a cult and start to stare at the wall for hours on end chanting things. Make him break the news and then look very disappointed but understanding.
