It pulled in $41.4million on Friday.

I doubt any movie will be able to touch it this summer.. Even if it drops 3/4 next weekend, that will just lower it to above avg opening weekend numbers...

Im betting it does $125million. With $200million by time ATOC opens..

holy hell, it will prolly do more than that. they'll be laughing all the way to the bank!

I doubt it ATOC will pull in Spiderman numbers. Spiderman will probably still be pulling in around $20-30million by time ATOC opens. Spidermans nearest competition pulled in a little under $3million yesterday. Funny thing Spiderman will make more in one weekend than the Scorpian King will make at the box office.

And besides Spiderman is a GOOD movie, ATOC well may or may not be a good movie, and alot of people probably will wait a week or two to see how the word of mouth is after EP. 1.

In hindsight, delaying and deleting the WTC was a smart move, the movie would not have made nearly as much if it wasnt delayed(was supposed to open Nov 2001). The three major blockbusters this year are Spiderman, ATOC and MIB2. Spiderman and ATOC will be around $400million, and MIB2 will be around $250million.

<< ATOC will 0wnz0r Spiderman.

Trust me on this one, everyone and their mother will go see it.

i agree

I saw spiderman last night and it was awesome, but c'mon. Nothing will come close to Star Wars, because it's STAR WARS! Face it, even though Episode I got lousy reviews it still did extremely well (#4 overall I think in US Box Office). I think spiderman will do very well, but it'll be lucky if it even gets half as much as AOTC.

The folks at CNBC said that it would earn between 70 million and 100 million dollars. I think that it will be closer to the high number, as it is filling all the screens that it's showing on. The 10 screen theatre that I went to had 4 of their screens dedicated to Spiderman, almost all of them were sold out.

Star Wars does so well because it has a huge following of no life losers who live for each new episode.

Isn't it AOTC???

This weekend? I'd say 75-90 million. Six week gross, definitely above 150 million. Final figure including overseas market? I'd say at least $250 mil.

if any comic book figure can draw huge audiences it's definitely spidey.

i wouldn't be surprised to see this movie break the $300 mil mark 3 months from now.

Do you guys think any movie could surpass he all time box office gross of Titanic.... wasn't that great of a movie, don't know how it did so well.

it did that well cause it was such an OBVIOUS date movie and guys kept taking girls to see the film. 🙂

man there was a crazy line in westwood for the spiderman opening, i haven't experienced anything like that in awhile

it was definitely a great movie with a alot of hype which i think it lived up to and maybe even surpassed what i was expecting

who cares who makes more, i just care about seeing some great movies this summer 🙂

Considering its pulled in about $80million already, its going to top $100million. Spidey will gross over $300million, probably around July 4.
