is 5 yrs difference too much or 10 yrs of an age difference? where do you draw the line?

Excluding any legal issues, I would judge it on a case-by-case basis. IMO.

Standard Multiplier still applies here:

Age / 2 + 7
Who decided this?

It's just a rule of thumb. I've heard it too. It fits pretty well too.

If you're 18, you shouldn't be seeing someone any younger than 16. But if you're thirty, you could be dating a 22 yo and still be within social acceptance. However, a 30 year old dating a 19 year old would draw suspicion.

I would say 18-30, 7 years max
30+ let the gods sort it out.

i would change the "7 years max" to "4 years max" but otherwise i agree

when one person is pretty young it can be bad, but once both people are relatively old/mature, i don't suppose its so freaky
