I generally just go with the flow ... in heavy traffic, thats like 50 less than the speed limmit, in light traffic it ranges from 10 to 20mph over the limmit ... though If I am on a long stretch of highway that I drive often, and there are few cars, and visibility is good ... I sometimes find myself going faster than I should (not often, but sometimes like 40-50 over)
Drive about 85 on the highway where there is a 65MPH limit, and usually about 10-15 over on city roads. However, I work third shift, so when I go to work @ 11pm, there is not any traffic on the highway, nor is there much in the morning on my way home.
About 10-15 Mph over the limit unless my Porsche has decided to go faster that day.
Or like a guy I know said when the police pulled him over in his car (also a Porsche) when he was speeding. " But officer, this car doesn't go any slower than this."
Depends....on i95, I generally go 80-85(55 highway), on i76 usually around 75-80(55 highway), on 422 I usually go about 70(55 highway). In the city/suburban areas, rarely over 10 over the posted speed. It all depends on the road.
Why bother even speeding if you're going to go over so little? Are you really saving that much time? I go about 20mph over in city, and about 40mph on highway.
On normal road I try and keep to speed the limit, I occasionally go up to 10mph faster but not often.
Things are a bit different here in the UK....Our Motorway speed limit is 70mph but here are some average speeds you would expect to occur...
Slow lane = 70mph
Overtaking lane = 85mph
Fast Lane = 100mph
Plus have seen many people in the fast line going as fast as say 120mph...I normally stick in the middle lane doing about 85mph...on Dual Carriageways (two lane highway) I go about 85mph in fast lane.
I always go 10mph over the speed limit, except in housing areas. Needless to say, I have NEVER gotten a ticket, nor have I ever been pulled over.
It depends on where I am driving. On highways in and around Chicago, I go with the flow of traffic, which could be as much as 30mph over. On long trips, and back home, 9mph over the limit...I really can't afford any speeding ticket, but that is the one I can afford the most.
