So how much do you save out of each paycheck?

I currently save nothing for the most part........ Soooooooo many toys to buy, so little money :p.

My fiancee currently saves around 10-15% of every paycheck. She does this by having her online banking take the money straight out of her account and putting it into mutual funds etc. This happens around the time she gets paid so she doesnt have time to spend it.

<<<=Needs to take some lessons from the woman ;).

I have $25 (w/ 100% matching) that goes into my simple IRA each week. I also put $50-100 into a savings account with the remainder going into my checking....

I get paid biweekly. From each check about 13% pretax goes into the 401k, 200 goes into savings, 200 goes into mutual funds.

If I saved money I wouldn't be able to live my extravagant lifestyle. I just love eating beans and spaghetti and shopping at the thrift store.

Damn toys from hotdeals huh? I feel your pain :(.

At this rate the fiancee will be the one putting up the downpayment for the house :p. Must stop buying toys!!!!!!!!

It's all Ross's fault!

Anand needs to put the hotdeals forum on a separate ip address so we can block it :p.

I get a paycheck twice a month, but I try to save at least $1000 (up to $1500 if i'm good and stay away from the hot deals forum :) ...that's around 50% of my paycheck after taxes. I also help my parents out with $500/month. But I consider that rent since I live at home.

I have to wait until I get a real job. However all profits from my freelance webdesign go into my savings, unless I need the money for college, bills, or

Right now 6.5% of my pre-tax income goes straight into a 401k.

Beyond that? Nothing.

Once I get my ass out of debt that will change, but at the rate I'm going that may never happen.

Try to save about 30% which goes to 401k. Taxes eat up quite a bit, the rest goes into bills, commute, food, etc.
