A gallon of regular gas in New Bern, NC is around the $1.95 mark. What is it where you are from?

As an RNC consultant, I have direct access to the strategic reserves and pay a $0.33 fee per gallon.

so, uhh...wanna give me a little hand sometime, maybe I could drive you somewhere? (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)

:)

naw...my car gets pretty decent mileage, so these gas prices aren't hurting *too* bad...I had wanted to take a road trip this summer though. Guess I can scrap that.

Gas is ~$2.20-$2.30 for regular here in Seattle.

I'm torn between being glad, since it forces people to get more economical cars/carpool, and then depressed because I realize that people will just gripe about the prices and keep on driving just as usual.

jagec, I agree that it will force people to eventually get more efficient cars. Hopefully one day we will all drive around hybrid or full cell cars, but that day is not here. At the same time, you have to realize what this will do to our economy if the price does not come down. We depend on trucking and air cargo; well the increase at the pump will make the price of everything else go up. Becoming a 3rd world country is not the solution to the problem.

$2.33 per gallon here in Oregon

****ODOT is devising a plan to TAX people extra who get better fuel mileage because they say they are not getting enough money from the fuel taxes to keep the roads maintained.

Oregon has some of the WORST spending habits in the country.

$2.21 at the local Arco yesterday.

Price jumped a nickel since the week-end.

Darn speculation on oil supplies.

$2.23 in upstate NY, but *only* $1.95 in NJ W00t!

Just back from UK, gas was ~90p per L.
So, ~$1.57/L or nearly $6/ gal
