How many of you actually went to the beach, or somewhere this summer?

I went to the beach a few times, river a few times, to a few theme parks, but no major trip.

i took a trip to Utah/Colorado, and another to Yellowstone early summer, but nothing major in the thick of the summer though.

I went to Disney World for the first time with my boyfriend and his parents for a week.

I went to Arizona (Phoenix/Carefree) for a week in June. Then in August I went to Lake George,NY. We usually take 2 separate 1 week vacations each summer.

we all went to virginia for 5 days or so when my brother in law died. that probably doesn't count.

my husband went to pennsylvania for a week for an S-gauge model train geekfest.. he had a good time. the rest of us had a better time not going with him. (er.. than we would have if we had!)

I took our kids and the daughter's boyfriend to NYC for 4 days, we rode the staten island ferry and went to coney island and the NY aquarium and went to top of empire state building and little italy and chinatown and times square and 2 broadway shows (spamalot and dirty rotten scoundrels) and walked a LOT and shopped some.. it was pretty fun.

Spent 7 days in Mrytle Beach, SC.

I haven't yet and I don't think it's going to be possible this year. Drowning in work.

Took 5 days off and flew to NY for an extended weekend last week.
This spring/winter I took about 5 months off from work for health reasons. But I didn't enjoy it at all so it wasn't much of a vacation.

Hiroshima,Kyoto,Nara, Kamakura,Himeiji, Aichi(Expo 2005) and Tokyo with my family. What a great trip eventhough it was more a adventure than a vacation. Also, just got back taking a bunch of teenagers to the Cal Expo fair in Sacramento,yesterday.

I keep thinking that when I am on my deathbed, I want to think that I did not work OT just to make more $$ vs. spending more quality time with my family. I just want no regrets because I know that we are just living here temporarily...

we went to lake tahoe in july, then spent a week on the oregon coast recently.

I went to Maui, Hawaii for a week. Then I went to summer camp for a week with my friends. It was a good summer.

only there 10 days.

Tried to. Drove 14 hours to Connecticut on our way to Washington, got a call saying that my grandfather died, and then drove home.
