I've spent the last 6 hours using my macintosh. So far, it's unaffected ;)

But, seriously, it seems like this has messed up a lot of PCs.

not me. Currently in linux and i had XP updated for awhile, not to mention that my router blocks it.

However, it has affected my internet connection...it sucks now cause im getting hit like 100 times every 30 minutes.

Somehow got through our Linksys router and hit one of my roommate's pc's. We let him control the settings on it cuzz we're too lazy.

My computer was off and once I got home, I updated it. That was the most it affected me.

Yea, My internet is getting hit too.

Coincidentally, I reformatted yesterday (went from 98/2k/XP to XP/Linux partitions). Was wondering why things were so slow web-wise today. I can only assume that it's machines getting hit by this worm. Either that, or something's funky with my installation and software.

not just the machines getting hit, but the amount of bandwidth the thing is taking up as well by sending itself 89783294728934723098427340923472983647892364987468927364 times over the net.

A f*cking ridiculous amount of people. Roadrunner has received a record amount of calls tonight because of it.

Ill know myself when I get home. My firewall crashed tonight which is a little too coincidental so who knows.

One of my computer customer's called my cellphone and left a message (I was at my other job) and said something about getting some error and her computer kept shutting down. She left another message after a couple hours saying that she had talked to Compaq tech support and they fixed it. It was some sort of virus, so I'm assuming it was this.

Absolutely insane. I heard about it a few weeks ago and ran windows update, grabbing what I thought were the necessary patches, but evidently the RPC fix wasn't included. I got the reboot a few times last night, and about once every minute today. In the end it was a race against the shutdown clock for the patch to download from ms.com... it finished about 3 seconds before the clock hit 0 and the comp rebooted. Stupid dialup :D The patch did the trick, though, and I deleted the files (well, PC-Cillin nabbed em) and removed the registry settings.

I think it's the first time I've ever been hit by something like this. I'm absolutely amazed at the speed it's spread.

It must suck getting hit 100 times every 30 minutes. I only got hit 4 times during the last 2 hours. Shows how many people actually use Charter cable.

Just about every one of my 'friends' called me asking about it, and how to fix it. Some of them thought it would be a good idea to give my number out to thier friends and relatives that were affected.:|
