So far this year I've managed to get suspended from work for a week (later reduced to 3 days, though), get in a car accident (which thankfully i can do all the repair work myself, new light and hood), and got pulled over last night and gotten a written warning for my out headlight and apparently I don't have a rear license plate light. Ugh!! :frown:

So how has 2007 treated the rest of ATOT?

Sounds like your new year is sucking royally. Mine is sucking fairly well too.

- Had awesome New Year's Eve/weekend w/fiancee at nice hotel

...That was the SETUP...

...and then...

- Came back to work this week to complete hell. All the crap that people didn't want done before the holidays...they decided now that they really DID want it done BEFORE the holidays. :| Boss is pinging. Sh33t rolls downhill.

- Oh yeah, and they fired one guy from my work center...guess who inherited his workload? :roll:

- Got letter from IRS yesterday; those mutual funds I cashed in last year b/c I was having some money probs? Yeah...didn't pay taxes on them. I owe them $821. How do they come up with such a damn odd number? Fckerssss.

- Oh yeah...got my W2's! :) As I expected (not a surprise) I now owe $850 in taxes for LAST year; I claim 2 all year, but it's only me.

- Oh yeah...I'm getting married in June and have a wedding to pay for.

- Oh yeah...I don't make six figures, dammit!

Fiancee hurt her back at the gym two days ago...but I think she's whining too much. I have a bad back...I know what the real symptoms are. Told her she's being a big baby...didn't go over too well.

/side note: NEVER tell the S.O. "you're being a big baby!" when it's that time of the month!!! Flying dishes, minor bodily injury, random verbal tongue lashings and nookie store closure are sure to follow

So yeah...2007 can kiss my ass so far.

Can you tell me what type of work you're in? I'm interested in what kind of job suspends a person for a week... and what did you do to get suspended??


The year has been okay for me. I was overseas until last weekend. I've come back to work, and it's been slow because we shut down the lab over the holidays and it's slow to come back up (which is why I stayed overseas for an extra week).

Sleep is still a little messed up (jetlag) and my apartment is a mess because I'm too tired at night to clean up, but stuff is okay.

Is Monday a real holiday for everyone? My sister says it's a day off, but I'm not sure we get it.

So far, so good.
Got on a Pain Management program that seems to be working quite well.
Good weather for the job. (Keeping it ahead of schedule!)
Getting some needed rest (No more 16 hour days,.... Yet.)
Wife hasn't went psycho on anyone yet. (Not that I know of, anyway)

I've had much worse!

2007 has gotten off to a crap start.
I got a promotion in November so I didn't get a raise at year end. Yea, way to hold off on the promotion that you promised me in June so that you could screw me on my raise.

2007 is not so great thus far. My dad is in the hospital and has been for the last week.

Today the diagnosis is official... lung cancer of his right lung although we are hoping that he will respond well to chemotherapy. It's a wait and see kinda deal. I've spent way too much time at that hospital this year. Hopefully they will release him tonight or tomorrow and I can drive him home.

I thought last year sucked because of breaking up with my gf but this hospital stuff is far worse. :(

I've been to work three times this year and my Apple stock is worth $1980 more than it was on January 3rd so my year is going pretty well so far.
